    I think @openguy is talking about a limit on the field values, not the field description. There's a hard limit of 1000 characters defined here: https://github.com/esotalk/Profiles/blob/master/plugin.php#L279 .

  3. toby can u zip this for me ?

  5. Is there any way to save user fields as an empty string ' ' ? Right now it makes it = 0 when empty, and when you set to show it in the posts - looks bad.

    I think so ..

  7. If you edit in database - you can make it equal to empty string = ' ', so the problem is only when you try to save from the user profile - somehow it saves zeros...

  8. Ok, I've found where the problem is:

    Check out plugin.php:280, change

    $value = substr($value, 0, 1000);

    to

    $value = mb_substr($value, 0, 1000);

    or

    $value = mb_substr($value, 0, 1000, "UTF-8");

    if your internal encoding setting differs from UTF-8.

  9. Works fine

    That is right @Toby , I was looking for the field value. Thank you! Is there a limit on the database side? Let's say I put the value at 4000 characters, will there be a problem?

    This isn't working for me. Users can add info to the "About Me" section and "Location" but both are not being displayed in the actual profile. I just installed the forum about 2 days ago so I'm using the latest version.

    If you mean it's not displayed within member's post - remove this fields from "Administration" - "Profiles" and create again. I think the one which is installed by default had some problems with wrong ids in database.

  13. hello.

  14. Error when saving profile @Toby

    Can anyone here more savvy, explain to me how to add the Location feature in profiles for members?

  18. @Tech Can anyone here more savvy, explain to me how to add the Location feature in profiles for members?

    With how it's setup as of now it's just basic text. As you'll see below just basic text noting more. I'm sure that a world map version could be implemented but isn't really needed as it would defeat the purpose of the software being "Fat-free forum software".

  19. Thanks for leading me into the right path "the pic and info says it all" Thanks!

    @Toby I have a question for this beautiful plugin.

    Ok i been explained wonderfully by some very helpful members on here (Thanks Guys!)

    Gender.png

    was wondering now if there was a hook or small edit so that when members selecting their gender in their own profiles the username would change color and also the postbit TEXT <-- (Female or Male) replacing it with a small icon (Female.png or Male.png approx 12pixels by 12pixels)?
